Pre-Primary Room 3

November 2025

It is a pleasure to return in the month of November with yet another exciting update on our fun-filled activities completed by our talented and eager-to-learn little students.

During November, we explored the following units:

·        The USA and famous places to visit

·        Weather patterns in the USA

·        Colors and stars on the USA flag

·        “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” by Carol McCloud and Katherine Martin

·        Pilgrims and Native Americans (special subject)

·        Thanksgiving History (Harvest Feast)

We began by introducing the USA through the concept of continents, helping children locate the United States on the North American continent and find California on the 50 States map. The children also learned that the 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states. They enjoyed creating a sponge-painting art activity to illustrate this concept and explored famous American landmarks through a collage.

Our lessons on weather and seasons were taught and reinforced using music, discussions, and flashcards, making learning interactive and engaging. We read and discussed the book “To Fill a Bucket,” followed by role-play and a song. The children shared thoughtful ideas about positive behaviors that “fill the invisible bucket” and those that do not. The topic of Pilgrims and Native Americans was introduced through storytelling, flashcards, and role-play. The children were especially fascinated by the Native Americans and their traditional attire.

As we spoke about Thanksgiving and the Harvest Feast, the children eagerly looked forward to enjoying delicious food and showcasing their art and craft creations.

Our talented Pre-Primary kids are all set and excited to welcome December in grand style!

Thank you for all the support you’ve rendered.

With warm regards,

Ms. Yuhana and Ms. Norma

October 2025

Welcome to another exciting month filled with fun, laughter, and learning! Our little Pre-Primary students were full of enthusiasm and curiosity throughout October, eagerly participating in every circle-time lesson. Their love for learning continues to inspire us to make each classroom experience even more joyful and meaningful.

The children have been busy exploring and working with various Montessori materials, which has helped them further develop their fine motor skills. They also had a wonderful time creating Halloween-themed art and craft projects, each masterpiece proudly displayed for everyone to see! In addition, our young learners completed their activity sheets with great effort and creativity.

During the month of October, the children explored the following units:

Fall Harvest

Life Cycle of a Pumpkin

North America

Continents

The Four Seasons

For literature, we enjoyed reading Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger—a story that perfectly complemented our autumn theme.

“Cooking with Art” continues to be one of the children’s favorite activities, as it combines creativity with the joy of tasting delicious treats. This month, they especially loved making spooky Halloween crafts and snacks in celebration of the season. Everyone is now eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Harvest Carnival and Halloween Parade!

September 2025

Hello Pre-Primary Parents,

We’re excited to begin the new 2025–2026 school year! The children have come back full of energy, ready to learn, explore, and engage with all the exciting activities happening in our classroom.

Back-to-School Night was a great success, thank you to all the parents who attended! It was wonderful to see your enthusiasm and support. Your presence truly meant a lot to us and to your children.

Our students have eagerly been diving into learning their letter sounds, numbers, practical life skills, and art and craft activities each day. They are developing both academically and creatively in such inspiring ways!

During the month of September, we explored the following units:

  • All About Me
  • My Family
  • The Plant World
  • The Senses and Perception
  • The Life Cycle of a Frog
  • The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn (Literature)

The children also continue to enjoy our weekly enrichment classes. Music and Cookery remain favorites; they love singing, dancing, playing instruments, and especially tasting the delicious treats they help prepare!

Another highlight has been Show and Tell. This activity gives children the opportunity to speak in front of their peers about something special, helping to build confidence and communication skills.

In Spanish class, the little ones are learning colors, numbers, and days of the week. It's amazing to see their creativity and imagination come alive during these lessons!

Thank you once again for your continued support, especially for helping your child complete the project work sent home. We’re looking forward to another fun and enriching month ahead of October!

Warm regards,
MS. Yuhana & Ms. Norma

Summer 2025

Summer has come to an end, and what an eventful season it was! We enjoyed countless water play days, and the kids were huge fans of the water slides. We were thrilled to have a magician visit us, along with some fascinating reptile friends. The Vista Sheriffs also stopped by to show off their patrol car, which was incredibly exciting for the children. These visits tied in perfectly with our “Community Helpers” theme week.

Our Fridays were extra sweet with popsicles, and the summer was packed with fun crafts, from bracelet making to creative science experiments and lively dance parties. One of our favorite projects was painting with balloons during Solar System Week, it was so much fun exploring different painting tools!

Summer wrapped up with an unforgettable Field Day, complete with a playground overflowing with foam. The kids had a blast diving and playing in the foam, it was a truly memorable way to end the season.

We are beyond excited to start the new school year, especially with our Spanish Immersion class! The children are already eager to use their Spanish, and their enthusiasm for the classroom is so rewarding. Thank you to all the parents for enrolling your children in this program. I am thrilled and proud of all the fun learning experiences we have planned ahead!
