I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed spending the holiday with family and friends. December flew by and we all had so much fun making Holiday gifts, art projects and singing our Holiday songs.
In December, we discussed the different Holidays and what Holiday the children celebrate with their families. We also focused on Hanukkah. The children learned that the center candle is called the shamash and it is the helper candle that lights all the other candles during Hanukkah. The children got the opportunity to play the dreidel game and decorate a mini tree in the Practical Life area. We also had a special visit from Santa, which the children enjoyed.
We closed out December with our Winter Program. The children did an amazing job singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and our Montessori song. They worked so hard, and it was so nice to see them become independent and confident.

In November, the children learned about Harvest and Healthy Bodies. Exploring Fall harvest foods and recognizing what typically grows during this season, they marveled at the myriad hues of the leaves. Understanding the significance of maintaining a healthy body, they learned to discern good and not-so-good food choices. In Language, our focus encompassed the letters "I-K." Math sessions continued with number matching, sandpaper numbers, and number puzzles. Practical life skills sessions involved leaf sorting based on size and color and lessons on vegetables, fruit cutting, and table setting. As the month drew close, we reflected on and shared what we were grateful for.
November swiftly passed, marking the steady approach of the year's end. It was another vibrant and engaging period for us. We initiated rehearsals for our Winter Concert, witnessing the children's joyous dances and melodic singing. Our Friendsgiving harvest feast was an absolute hit, thoroughly enjoyed by the children. Heartfelt thanks to all the parents who contributed their delicious dishes!

September 2023
September was full of meeting new kiddos and families. Our classroom is doing well, and I know we will have a good school year! The children became busy with the month's theme, All About Me. We discussed how to care for ourselves and our friends and family. All my friends practiced their 1-4 numbers by tracing them and matching the numbers from the number puzzle. We also focused on practicing practical life skills by spooning balls and dried beans and using our thongs to transfer pom poms. The literature book for the month was The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. This story was great because it discussed a mother raccoon comforting her son as he started a new school. The children loved listening to the story.
The science/geography component for the month was the seven continents. My friends were introduced to the continent globe and maps showing the land and water. The children also enjoyed working on a seven-continent puzzle and coloring the seven continents.
We worked on Grace and Courtesy in the classroom, all children practiced their grace and courtesy skills by learning how to share with other friends. They worked on how to say hello and good morning, how to cover a cough, wipe their noses, say please and thank you and plus more.
Our Back-to-School Night was a SUCCESS! Thank you to everyone who attended! We hope you enjoyed learning a little more about the classroom and teachers.
Summer 2023
Hello Preprimary Parents!
WOW, I can NOT believe Summer is already over. Our first summer experience together as a whole school was filled with fun, laughs, new memories, and, most importantly, learning new topics. Some topics that stuck with me and some of your children were Underwater Adventures. The children could make underwater arts and crafts, such as a portrait of themselves holding sea shells underwater. Outer space, they learned about the first person who landed on the moon. They enjoyed coloring the outline of astronaut gear, wearing it, and posing as if they were astronauts. During our Volcanoes and Eruptions week, we saw and understood how a volcano can erupt and the different stages of eruptions. Down on the farm had to be an ABSOLUTE favorite theme. The children worked with a sensory bin to clean farm animals and loved talking about the chicks we hatch at school. Spirit week, carnival, and a foam party day were a great way to end our summer.
Lastly, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ms.Angie, and I am super excited about becoming your child's teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Along with Ms. Sara, we are excited to start the year off right.
